Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church provides a youth ministry, which is dedicated to promoting a welcoming environment where youth feel comfortable and engaged. We work hard to foster relationships between not only the members of our group, but also each youth and Jesus Christ. Our youth are an integrated and visible part of the congregation and are involved in the full life of the church. Our youth recognize, value, and embrace the responsibility of answering God’s call to love and serve all people. Cook’s Youth Ministry inspires spiritual grown that actively engages each individual in a lifelong walk with Christ.
Youth Sunday School meets in the youth room at 9am each Sunday morning. We have rotation of classes that changes each week. The first Sunday of the month is dedicated to “Careers in Christ.” We will have a guest speaker each week share how their spiritual and professional lives are intertwined in order to give our youth ideas and lessons as they make decisions going forward. On the second Sunday of the month, we take a dive into fifteen year old youth curriculum to see the similarities and differences of the daily lives of teens. During the third Sunday of the month, we have a time for relaxation and meditation, where we explore techniques to unwind through prayer. Then on the fourth Sunday of the month, we take a look into movie scenes to find what God may be trying to tell us! When a month has a fifth Sunday, we go out as a group for breakfast!
Cook’s Youth generally meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-5:00pm in the youth room! We meet for fellowship and discussion on a variety of topics as we try to deepen our relationship with Christ. We attempt to incorporate a plethora of activities to engage every learning style, so youth group can look different from week to week. We also have a variety of events and outings throughout the school year. You can find our current schedule below.
